What Do You Get For Grandma This Christmas

By Stevie Jay-Jones

It’s getting very near to Christmas and the usual problem has cropped up again. What do you buy for your family members and friends this year?

Most of the time they let you know what they would like. However, there is always at least one person who you find it near impossible to buy for because they have collected everything over the years. So what’s the answer? Well this is really unique but it’s becoming much more popular each week so the statistics show. A Family Tree Genealogical History…. Personalised just for Granny, or whoever else you choose to buy one for.

What price can you put on something as unique as that? Priceless. To present her with a bound report outlining her ancestors, where they all lived, what they did for a living, how they would have lived and died, what children they had and so much more. In fact a living history that brings the social and economic history of your ancestors to life through detailed research. And it could well put you into contact with a living relative you didn’t know!

And you could really personalise it by supplementing it with photographs too. And by emailing a handful of your favourite scanned images then these could be incorporated in the report easily. Imagine the Christmas day your Granny could have with a gift such as that? Imagine all of the family sitting around and chatting about what is contained in this fascinating personal family history. I bet the old photograph box makes an appearance at some point!

But it is difficult to show somebody what is in your bound history if they live somewhere else in the country or even the World. So just email them it! That’s right, you can have a copy saved as a PDF file so that anybody around the world could see it if you wanted them to. Or how about you let them know where your new personal family tree is on Genes Reunited on the internet? How good would that be? So stop worrying about what to get your Granny for Christmas for this year at least.
